Hot flushes can happen as a result of cancer treatments which can effect hormone levels in the body:

  • Hormone therapies - often used for breast cancer and prostate cancer
  • Treatments affecting the ovaries - chemotherapy, surgery or pelvic radiotherapy.

 

 

Women's Health Physiotherapy

Certain cancers and cancer treatments can have an effect on the pelvic floor which can lead to symptoms such as 

  • Pelvic pain
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Urinary urgency
  • Urinary frequency
  • Incomplete emptying of the bladder
  • Vaginal tightness
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Bowel problems
